§ 12-11. Membership.

A.The Board shall consist of seven members, who shall be residents of the Town of North Castle, to be appointed by the Town Board. The Superintendent of Recreation shall be an ex officio member of such Board but shall have no vote. The seven members shall be selected with an emphasis on a demonstrated interest in parks, recreation, youth service or related areas. In addition, members should be individuals of diverse backgrounds from different areas of the Town.B.The terms of appointed members of the Board shall be three years, each to expire at the end of a calendar year; except that, of those first appointed, two shall be appointed to serve for one year, two for two years and three for three years, with their successors to be appointed for three-year terms. The Chairman shall make specific recommendations to the Town Board concerning any member whose term has expired and who wishes to apply for reappointment.C.Board members will serve without compensation.
